List: The best right backs at the 2023 World Championship

The 2023 World Championship is getting closer and in a series of articles Ola Selby, reporter at GoHandball, picks his 5 best players at each position. Next up? The right backs.

Here are the players:

Nora Mørk, Norway

There are a lot of skillful players at right back but the best one of them all is still Nora Mörk. She can do it all but the most impressive part about here is the fact that no-one gets as happy as she does when she wins and no-one gets as angry as Mörk after a loss. After winning so many titles over the years that sticks out.

Dione Housheer, Netherlands

Housheer has been dominant this season in Odense and I believe she is ready to take the next step on the international stage as well. She would have probably already done that if it weren’t for all the bad luck with injuries. Now it’s here time to shine.

Katrin Klujber, Hungary

Klujber got voted best right back during the Euros a year ago and considering the other players in this position that says a lot about here. Can score goals in her sleep and will probably do it all for Hungary during the WC.

Ana Gros, Slovenia

Gros did everything she could a year ago to take Slovenia to as much success as possible during the Euros in (partly) Slovenia. Very few players are as meaningful for their teams as Gros is for Slovenia.

Ryu Eun-hee, South Korea

The only non-European player on these lists. But Eun-hee deserves her place among the best right backs in the world and continues to perform in Györ even though she competes with Gros for playing time. South Korea can very well surprise some people during the WC but to do that Eun-hee needs to perform at her best level.
