Predrag Bošković, first Vice‑President of the European Handball Federation (EHF), was arrested in Podgorica on allegations of involvement in a criminal organization targeting political opponents, according to several media outlets. GoHandball asked the EHF to comment. “We are not aware of any connection to the EHF or to Boskovic’s office as EHF Vice-President,” the organisation say in a brief statement.
The first vice president of the EHF was arrested on Monday due to the allegations. GoHandball asked the EHF for a comment, and they answered by email:
“The EHF is aware that Predrag Boskovic has been detained and questioned by the Montenegrin authorities since Monday morning.
This is obviously a domestic matter linked to the political offices that Predrag Boskovic has held in the past – and the presumption of innocence applies.
We are not aware of any connection to the EHF or to Boskovic’s office as EHF Vice-President. Beyond that, we have no additional information and therefore cannot comment further.”
