Dragan Adzic and Uros Zorman continue in charge of Slovenia

Both national team coaches of Slovenia renew their contracts. Dragan Adzic and Uros Zorman will lead the women’s and men’s efforts until 2027.

The olympics in Paris ends Adzic´s third season with the national team. The eight spot in Euro 2022 is the best record so far, Slovenia finished eleventh in the World Championship last year,

– “I am happy that with our combined efforts we fulfilled the plans since my arrival in Slovenia and qualified for this year’s Olympic Games. I believe that the appearance in Paris will be stimulating for both older and experienced players as well as those who are knocking on the national team’s door.

– In the next two years, I will devote a lot of time to the development of younger players and strengthening the team spirit, and I hope that we will continue to be competitive with the best national teams in the world,” said Adzic to the federation’s webpage.

Under Zorman, Slovenia sets the standard high during 2024. The sixth place in European competition in January was followed by a successful qualification to Paris.

– The Olympic Games in Paris are a big challenge for all of us. After them, a new four-year Olympic cycle will begin again, where our main goal will be to qualify for every major competition.

– After Paris, there will be a change of generation, some older players will say goodbye , and their place will be taken by the younger ones. There is a lot of work ahead of us on the development of the players in the younger categories, said Zorman to RZS.
