Kolstad hit by bad economy – no international newcomers until 2026

The CL contender Kolstad HB continues as a project presenting deficits. The recent summary shows a large minus for 2024 and a devastating latch. No more international players will be brought to the club until 2026.

VG gives an update on the tight situation in Trondheim, earlier provided by the local newspaper Adresseavisen.

In 2024 the club shows its worst yearly status yet, minus 5,9 million Norwegian crowns. Even though the income rose from 14 to 78 million an even higher cost item stops at 84 million.

– It is not pleasant to present such a large minus, says CEO Jostein Sivertsen ahead of the annual meeting on Monday evening according to VG.

Earlier this spring, Kolstad announced Andreas Palicka as goalkeeper fortification for 2025/26. But the numbers now presented bring on a clear effect.

The equity must be brought to a positive status.

– The biggest consequence is that we cannot sign players at the top international level until we have positive equity again, says Sivertsen to VG.

Sander Sagosen leaving for Aalborg some time ago was a signal of Kolstad´s issues. VG state that the finance didn’t allow for Kolstad to reinforce in line with Sagosen´s vision.
