Breaking rumour: Nilsson to leave Veszprém this summer – joins Swedish club

Fan favourite and aspiring club legend Andreas Nilsson is set to leave Veszprém KC this summer. This according to Swedish website Skånesport which also points out his next destination.

Andreas Nilsson seems to leave Veszprém KC before the end of his contract in 2025. According to Swedish website Skånesport the player and the club has agreed on a termination of the contract aldready in the summer of 2024. Nilsson has requested a move since he wants to move home to Sweden and establish a new life with his family, including a six year old son.

News paper Norra Halland has reported that Nilsson has bought a house south of Gothenburg on the Swedish west coast and Skånesport claims that his next club will be Önnereds HK. Önnered is an ambitious club in the top league in Sweden so the claim would make sense.

Andreas “Andy” “Stycket” Nilsson joined Veszprém KC in the summer of 2014 from HSV Hamburg. Since then he has become a real fan favourite with his physical playing style and (former) hair style. He has established himself on the club’s All-time-top-scorer-lists during his 10 years at the Hungarian powerhouse.

Just a few weeks ago he scored his 1300th goal for the club, surpassed Kiril Lazarov on the top scorer list and is now placed 9th.
