Quarterfinal line-up complete at Men’s U20 EHF EURO

The knockout stage of the Men’s U20 EHF EURO is now set, with eight teams still in the race for the continental title after the completion of the main round in Romania.

The quarter-finals will feature four intriguing clashes:

  • France vs Sweden
  • Spain vs Slovenia
  • Switzerland vs Denmark
  • Germany vs Hungary

One of the biggest stories of the tournament so far is Switzerland’s run. The Swiss have reached the quarter-finals of the Men’s U20 EHF EURO for the first time since 2012 and will now take on defending champions Denmark for a place in the last four.

Sweden enter the knockout stage as one of only two unbeaten teams left in the competition, having won all five of their matches.  Spain continued their strong campaign to set up a meeting with Slovenia, while Germany and Hungary will battle for the remaining semi-final berth.

With traditional powerhouses France, Germany, Denmark, Spain and Sweden all still alive, alongside surprise package Switzerland and the ever-dangerous Slovenia and Hungary, the race for the U20 European title promises a thrilling finish.
