Denmark wins bronze after narrow victory over Sweden

Denmark claimed bronze at the IHF Men’s Youth World Championship, defeating Sweden 33–31 in a tense Scandinavian derby where neither side led by more than three goals.

The two sides, familiar from last year’s M18 EHF EURO final where Sweden won in extra time, delivered another close contest. Sweden started strong but Denmark responded with key runs to take narrow leads. Emil Darling Sørensen scored six first-half goals to keep Denmark ahead, though Sweden closed the gap to 13–14 at halftime.

In the second half, Nikola Roganovic helped Sweden briefly regain the lead, but a red card for Arvid Andreasson and earlier suspensions left the team short-handed. In the final minutes, turnovers and missed shots allowed Denmark to take a 32–31 lead and seal the win with a final goal.
