Tournament favourites Norway continue to impress at the World Championship. After a very strong first half, they comfortably defeated Montenegro 32–23 to book their spot in the semifinals.
Norway keep building momentum in this tournament. Just like in their previous matches, they opened the quarterfinal at a blistering pace. Montenegro simply couldn’t keep up, and after just over 20 minutes the scoreboard showed 13–5 and the game was essentially already decided.
– We once again manage to set the standard right from the start, it’s very impressive, said Henny Reistad to Viaplay.
Following their fantastic start, Norway eased off slightly, allowing Montenegro to work their way back into the match. The second half was much more even, something Reistad wasn’t entirely pleased with afterward.
– We could make better use of our chances. We were a bit sloppy for a period, and that’s something we need to improve because it can cost us against stronger teams. But all in all, I’m very satisfied, Reistad said.
Next up for Norway is the semifinal, where they will face either Hungary or the hosts, the Netherlands.
– It will be an exciting semifinal. Regardless of who we meet, both teams are strong. I’m hoping for a great atmosphere in Rotterdam, Reistad concluded.
