List: The best left backs at the 2023 World Championship

The 2023 World Championship is getting closer and in a series of articles Ola Selby, reporter at GoHandball, picks his 5 best players at each position. Here is perhaps the strongest position: the left backs.

Here are the players:

Jamina Roberts, Sweden

Roberts is better than ever and if we look at the top teams of this competition no player is as important for her team as Roberts is for Sweden. A player who has it all and who needs to play her best handball if Sweden is going to have a real chance on the silverware.

Few players in the world are better than Roberts but one that is a bit better is Henny Reistad. The Norwegian super player is, most often, playing handball at her own high level. A physical beast, she can shoot like few others, her breakthroughs are fierce, and at that, she needs to win every game.

Cristina Neagu, Romania

The oldest player on this list, but also the most decorated one. Can Neagu show her quality in her last hurrah with the Romanian national team? I believe she can. Neagu has shown in the Champions League this season just how great she still is.

Kristina Jörgensen, Denmark

The Metz player is high up on the scorers list of the Champions League and it’s easy to understand why. She has the size, and the goal-scoring ability and is also a great defender. Seems to have a higher confidence than ever and that if anything boats well for Denmark this December.

Emily Bölk, Germany

The only German player on these lists. She is here because of her ability to score goals and because she means so much to her team.
