France brought Czechia down

France and Czechia clashed in a speedy quarter final. Czechia´s quick attacks took the Blues somewhat by surprise, but France responded with strong defense for solid eleven goal win, 33–22.

Laura Glauser between the posts were the winning star and France allowed only six goals in the second half. As a result France reach the semifinal for the seventh time.

Grace Zaadi and Estelle Nze Minko got France going with early goals. Despite a couple of suspensions, the leading team could reach the ten minute mark with 9–6. 

Czechia was never far behind in the first half and were well prepared with fast-breaks and good passing pace. Veronika Mala contributed from the wing and Marketa Jerabkova became a solid creator in attack mode.

Alicia Toublancs buzzer beater for 18–16 ended the first half with a scare for France. After the breather Olivier Krumbholz team kept cool, supported by Nze Minkos frequent breakthroughs. 

Czechia was knocked out of contention when Laura Glauser produced several saves.

Top 8 before the placement games still tie the teams best WC result, Czechia is ready to improve on that during the final weekend while celebrating their ticket to an olympic qualification tournament. 

France await either Sweden or Germany in the semifinal Friday.
