Confirmed: Helle Thomsen national coach for Denmark

Rumors had been circulating that Helle Thomsen would take over from Jesper Jensen as head coach of the Danish women’s national team. This has now been confirmed by the Danish Handball Federation.

In July, Helle Thomsen will assume her new role as head coach of the successful Danish women’s national team. Thomsen takes over from Jesper Jensen, who has held the position for five years.

“As a Dane, this is the biggest job there is. Denmark is a handball nation. Here, you have the full package: young talents, plenty of players, and a national team that is always in the fight for medals at championships,” Thomsen said in a press release.

Thomsen has previously been a national coach, but for Sweden and the Netherlands. She has also coached several top-tier club teams. But now, it will be the Danish national team that she leads.

The experienced coach has signed a contract that runs until 2028.
