Hungary and Sweden secured the final spots as the qualification tournaments came to and end Sunday evening. The draw for the Paris games is soon to happen, IHF has released the seeding before Tuesday’s event.
Sweden ran over Great Britain, 52–8 and Hungary achieved another confidence booster by beating Japan, 37–28. Germany and Slovenia made the most of group 3 action, while both Spain and Netherlands were through before the final duel.
Per Johansson´s team won 27–26 and subsequently reached pot 2 in the seeding.
All in all, nine European teams will play in the olympics. Pan American Games winner, Brazil plus African Handball Championship gold medalist, Angola and the Republic of Korea who won the qualification tournament in Asia also await the draw with excitement.
