Vipers need 25 million before Friday to avoid bankruptcy

The financial crisis in Vipers Kristiansand is back at full speed. In a press release, the Norwegian club states it needs 25 million Norwegian crones before Friday to avoid bankruptcy.

The financial crisis in the biggest club in Norwegian women’s handball has existed for quite some time. Players have already agreed to lower their salaries, and other players have left the club. But it seems as if this is not enough.

In a press release, the club states it needs 25 million Norwegian crones before Friday to avoid bankruptcy. If the club doesn’t receive those 25 million before Friday, they won’t be able to pay the players, coaches, or staff and will have to declare bankruptcy.

The club writes in the press release that they have had a goal to secure the future of the club and that they have tried to secure partner deals of different sizes to ensure this. But that work has proven to be a lot harder than the club would have expected.

According to the club, the 25 million would secure the club over this future and lay the ground for a great future.

If this doesn’t work out for Vipers, it could mean that players like Katrine Lunde, Silje Solberg, Merel Freriks, Jamina Roberts, Lois Abbingh, and Larissa Nüsser could be without a club.
