Norway ready to defend European title

Thorir Hergeirsson has completed his final championship squad in charge of Norway. The defending Euro champion enters somewhat unchartered waters with both Stine Oftedal Dahmke and Nora Mørk out – Henny Reistad leads the 17 players into December action.

Hergeirsson was forced to leave four of the 15 olympic participants behind, Mørk and Oftedal plus Veronica Kristiansen (pregnancy) and Vilde Ingested (ACL injury). Anniken Obaidli plays her first major championship and comes from a vital role in Storhamar HB.

– This is a solid and strong squad. It consists of a good mix between a lot of experience on the hand plus that we also sees some championships debutants, says Hergeirsson to the federation website.

Norway faces Slovenia, Austria and Slovakia in the group stage.
