On Saturday, Odense and Győr secured their spots in the Champions League Final Four. Now, the quartet of teams vying for the title is complete after Metz and Team Esbjerg claimed the remaining two places.
Odense took care of FTC and Győr knocked out Ludwigsburg on Saturday. Sunday’s matches then decided whether Metz or Brest, and Team Esbjerg or CSM București, would join them.
In the all-French quarterfinal, Metz came out on top after narrowly defeating Brest 33–32.
The other quarterfinal between Esbjerg and CSM was wide open, as the first leg in Romania had ended with a narrow home win, 30–29. In Esbjerg, it turned into a dramatic match that the home side won 26–22, securing the fourth and final spot in the Final Four.
