Estelle Nze Minko will be out for a while. The left back is dealing with minor blood circulation issues, and it is still unclear when she can return to play.
“I’m waiting for information and results and I’m doing well,” wrote the 33-year-old in a text message to L’Équipe.
According to information from the French outlet L’Équipe, the captain of the French national team is having problems with her legs and must undergo a medical treatment that is incompatible with playing handball. Team doctors at Győri have reportedly recommended “a few weeks of rest.”
The injury means that Estelle Nze Minko will miss France’s national team training camp in the coming week and Győri’s Champions League semifinal. If the team reaches the Final Four, she might be able to participate.
In the quarterfinals (away game on April 19 and home game on April 26 in Hungary), the six-time champions will face the German side Ludwigsburg, whom they defeated in last season’s final – then under the name Bietigheim.
