Barcelona beat Veszprem after extra time

Within the first two half hours, the final in the New Administrative Capital Hall was a lowscored, hard fought event. Earlier in the day, SC Magdeburg completed the all-European podium outranking Al-Ahly 32–23 in the bronze game.

Barcelona and Veszprem added much more intensity and a goalkeeper duel on top level between Emil Nielsen and Rodrigo Corrales.

Ian Barrufet and Dika Mem took turns in scoring vital goals for the Spanish star side while the Hungarian giant had had French duo in Hugo Descat and right back Nedim Remili to push through the defense.

Small margins decided the final but Nielsen was the clear match winner with 27 saves (49 percent) including the the extended playing time.
