Two-time Champions League winners RK Krim Mercator have sent a team to the Partille World Cup for the first time. And the Girls 18 team continues to win. In the round of 32 match against HK Aranäs the Slovenians won 24–13.
RK Krim Mercator’s Girls 18 team, which has eight youth national team players in the squad, did not encounter any major problems during the group stage. The team won all five of their matches and only conceded 18 goals in total. However, in the first playoff match against Aranäs, the Slovenians were put to the test.
The team struggled against the Swedes high defensive play. In the first half, the teams were very evenly matched for a long time, but in the second half, Krim got going. HK Aranäs had significant problems on offense, while the Slovenians picked up speed in their counterattacks, and that made the difference.
Aranäs couldn’t quite keep up all the way and had to see themselves defeated with a final score of 24–13. Krim, one of the favorites to win the Partille World Cup, will play their next match at 17:55 on Heden 11.
