New Zealand shape up league structure

HLA – Handball League Aotearoa is the place to be for players with ambitions in either the North Island or South Island. The national federation announces the intention to start the regular season in May with the final set for October.

There are several purposes behind the league action. Of course, more games gain more interest but there is also individual possibilities for local players aiming to be a part of the national team.

”The league will consist of two conferences. The North Island Conference and South Island Conference, with the first year’s teams being made up of Auckland, Wellington, Canterbury, and Otago”, writes the federation on its website.

The format propose a regular season of eight games and the final will be played in Christchurch during the Regional Finals super weekend.
