Main round set at the U20 Women’s World Championship

The group stage at the U20 Women’s World Championship in China has come to an end, and the teams for the main round are now confirmed.

Defending champions France had to fight until the final minutes to secure progression. Egypt, who needed a win to keep their hopes alive, pushed France all the way and led by three goals during the match. However, France responded in the second half and eventually secured a 31–27 victory, finishing top of the group with a perfect record.

Sweden also booked their place in the main round after two wins and one defeat in the group stage. After a narrow loss against France (22–24), Sweden bounced back with victories over Egypt (25–22) and India (42–13).

With the group stage completed, the main round line-up is now set. The qualified teams have been divided into four groups, where they will continue their battle for a place in the quarter-finals.
