IHF reduces options for 2029 and 2031 World Cup

Only European bids stay in the run for the World Championships 2029 and 2031. As IHF presents the candidates, Spain and Czechia/Poland remains the only choice for the women’s tournaments.

Saudi Arabia was one of the de-selected prospective hosts after the evaluation of the international federation. This means to that the nordic option, Denmark/Iceland/Norway stands against the neighbour solution France and Germany in the decision to where the 2029 and 2031 edition of men’s WC will take place.

”After listening to the above-mentioned presentations, the IHF Council will vote for the awarding of the respective rights for the editions of the IHF World Championship. The winning bids will be announced  after all applicants have presented their bids and the voting has been finalised”, writes IHF on their webpage.
