Groups ready for the World Championship 2025

The groups for the 2025 World Championships in Norway, Denmark, and Croatia have been revealed. Sweden and Spain ended up in the same group, while Denmark got their dream draw.

One of the host nations, Croatia, was the chosen spot for the draw of the 2025 IHF Men’s World Championship. Dagur Sigurdsson co-hosted the event along with goalkeeper Dominik Kuzmanovic. The Croatian team was drawn together with Egypt, Argentina, and Bahrain.

– I am not sure about luck, both Egypt and France were tough opponents from the first pot. We played Argentina a few weeks ago, I know Bahrain from my previous job as the Japan national team head coach, therefore I think it will be a tough group, said Croatia’s coach, Dagur Sigurdsson to IHF.

On beforehand, the tightest group is Group A. With Germany being the favorites, Czechia, Poland, and Switzerland will fight behind.

The eight groups:
Group A (Herning): Germany, Czechia, Poland, Switzerland
Group B (Herning): Denmark, Italy, Algeria, Tunisia
Group C (Porec): France, Austria, Qatar, Kuwait
Group D (Varazdin): Hungary, Netherlands, North Macedonia, Guinea
Group E (Bærum): Norway, Portugal, Brazil, USA
Group F (Bærum): Sweden, Spain, Japan, Chile
Group G (Zagreb): Slovenia, Iceland, Cuba, Cape Verde
Group H (Zagreb): Egypt, Croatia, Argentina, Bahrain
