Los Angeles handball club has appointed Morten Olsen as its new coach. The former star player will bring decades of top-level experience and hopes to elevate handball in the US.
– This is another great step in investing in the growth and competitiveness of the sport in the USA, Los Angeles wrote on their Instagram.
It is a highly merited man that Los Angeles has managed to secure. Olsen has played at the highest level for both club and country. Two World Championships and an Olympic gold medal are among his greatest achievements.
With Olsen now ending his career as a player, the 41-year-old will try his wings as a coach. He will join Los Angeles, where he will work to help lift handball in the US. Los Angeles will also host the handball tournament at the 2028 Olympics.
– As we look to elevate handball in the US, we couldn’t be happier with Morten joining us with decades of experience as one of the best players in the world.
