Barca beat Bidasoa Irun and achieved 16 wins out of 16 games after the top duel in Liga Asobal. On the downside for the red, blue and yellow club – Gonzalo Perez de Vargas experienced a worrying injury and had to abandon the game.
With Barca several points ahead of all other contenders, even a loss would just have been partial damage to the dominant team.
Bidasoa Irun managed to press the giant for 60 minutes, with a halftime lead and tight standing with just a few minutes to go.
However, the two points for Barca mattered not so much watching the incident when Perez de Vargas had to leave the pitch helped by his teammates.
After 40 minutes the left knee of the goalkeeper was hurt during a fall and Perez de Vargas showed signs of pain.
Barca has communicated that the injury concerns the ligaments of the knee, further examination will take place on Monday.
Filip Saric took over between the posts and aided Barca to a tight triumph. Domen Makuc final shot put the home team ahead by enough margin.
