Gedeon Guardiola completes great career

The Spanish icon had a professional career spanning over 20 years and gave clubs in his homeland and Germany a huge boost. Gedeon Guardiola has decided to end the career after the current season.

Guardiola left HC Erlangen mid-last season and returned to Spain, where he signed a deal with BM Nava. The 40-year-pivot now announces the decision to step off court, in social media.

– I’ve really enjoyed handball as a player and as a person, he says in an Instagram video.

During his time abroad, in Rhein-Neckar Löwen, TBV Lemgo and Erlangen Guardiola won two Bundesliga titles and triumphed once in EHF Cup. 

Appearing over 200 times In the national jersey, Guardiola were one the members in the golden generation with European Championship titles and the bronze medal in Tokyo 2021. 

The news from Guardiola also contains a message to the fans.
