When Wisla Plock and Industria Kielce duelled on the field, the game ended with 21 two-minute suspensions and 29–25. Afterwards, a coaching dispute allegedly took place between Xavi Sabate and Talent Dujshebaev, according to Polish media and the clubs’ own statements.
The emotions surrounding the series final lasted much longer than 60 minutes and Sportowe Fakty describes Sunday’s events as “absolutely not good advertising for handball”.
What happens during the match may stop there, but the coaching argument that took place seems to have gone beyond measures.
Wisla coach Xavi Sabate said at the press conference that he had to endure severe abuse from Talent Dujshebaev and that the opposing coach spat in his face in front of the delegate and the TV cameras.
Dujshebaev´s response came via social media with the implication that Sabate made racist comments in return.
The last word has not been said. According to Wisla Plock’s x-account, Sabate will take legal action against Dujshebayev and pursue the case in court.
