Ingstad content as Norway put words into action

Norway line player Vilde Ingstad was satisfied with a job well done today as they led from start to finish against Denmark in a 27:18 win.

“I think we were really good at putting our words into action in this game. We succeeded in doing what we spoke about, which was not so much about handball, more our energy, intensity and contact.

Norway haven’t lost two successive games at a major championship since 2019 and they wasted no time in showing us that this run was not going to end today. There was no major change to the plan, rather a better execution from the off.

“Although we always have some variations, our game is the same as it was the last day and it’s two teams who know each other very well, but it looks like we were a little more calm and confident in our game today and this is the outcome.

Having led 10:2 in the first half, a victory was almost a certainty and although Denmark eventually found their way into the contest, Instead and Norway never allowed the scoreboard to influence their approach.

“We knew Denmark would score goals eventually, so we just needed to take it play after play and do our job. It’s too early to say that some pressure has been lifted but I’m happy with what we did today.

Norway are on the board and can now look forward to a very different challenge against Republic of Korea on Tuesday morning.
