Two longtime national team profiles got worthy attention during the price ceremony of the Norwegian sports galla. Camilla Herrem received the ”role model of the year” award while Katrine Lunde could enjoy the ”name of the year” award.
Last summer, Camilla Herrem was diagnosed with breast cancer. During the following months the wing player opened up about the treatment but also continued to play elite handball for Sola HK.
In the prize motivation from the jury the fact that Herrem used her career position to create greater openness, safety and understanding, both in and outside of sports was highlighted.
Lunde took part in her final championship wearing the goalkeeper jersey last December. In a public vote her merits with a total of 20 medals were fully acknowledged.
