League triumph for Sola

Sola HK only lost once in the first 24 rounds of league action. Via a Thursday night top performance, 27–18 away to Byåsen the splendid team secured the first ever league title.

Sola slowly but surely built capacity to be in contention for the gold. With a medal streak since five seasons there was no stopping the capable squad in 2025/26.

– It’s absolutely insane! I’m incredibly impressed with what we’ve accomplished. Everyone at the club. I have to say that this is huge, the wing star Camilla Herrem told TV2 Norway in a post-game comment.

Herrem battled tough illness, dealt with cancer treatment for a large part of the season and was recently given a clean bill of health. On 22 April the 39-year-old will receive the first league gold in her career.

– There have been a lot of ups and downs. One thing after another. That’s what’s nice about sports, that you can have a sanctuary. It’s been a completely different half a year, she continued to TV2 Norway.

Behind Sola, Storhamar seems set on second place and a solid position for the next phase of the season. Two rounds remain in the league stage before the play-off start in the end of April.
