Mathias Gidsel MVP among World Cup all stars

IHF has announced the All star-team for the tournament in Croatia, Denmark and Norway. The teams involved in the medal games was further awarded in the individual rankings and Mathias Gidsel became MVP for the second time in a row.

After 108 games. Denmark secured the gold via 32–26 versus Croatia in the final. The top scorer Mathias Gidsel also starred as MVP with two countrymen – Emil Nielsen (goalkeeper) and Simon Pytlick (left back) among the seven awarded for their position.

Portugal´s golden generation and boost through the tournament was denied entry on the podium. However, Francisco Costa as best young player plus Martim Costa’s playmaker and Victor Iturriza´s line player achievements still gave attention to the great effort.

The next men’s world championship, hosted by Germany will be played 2027.
