France has selected 18 players for a Christmas week World Cup preparation. One name is notably included, Dika Mem.
Mem had a shoulder injury not more than a month ago and had to undergo surgery. Still he sets sight on the training camp in the national jersey.
– Our working intention is to prepare for the World Cup but there will be no physical loads. It will be a time dedicated to our team’s project, to different physical and medical tests before a few days of recovery before tackling the third international competition in a year.
–Several players are injured or in the rehabilitation phase, which is why our medical staff will be in permanent contact with the club staffs to ensure that the care is properly conducted, says the coach Guillaume Gille to the federation website.
Hugo Descat and Yanis Lenne joins in the same conditions recovering from previous injuries and will follow an individualized cared program according to FFHandball.
The presence of Mem who was effectively ruled out of the World Cup when the injury took place might be seen as a chance of the 27-year-old to join the reigning silver medalist in the championship campaign.
