Croatia and Slovenia made it to Euro 2026 after four out of six qualification games. Faroe Islands brought hundreds of happy supporters to Netherlands and rewarded them with a win. Finland beat Slovakia and Italy doubled up with two points against Latvia.
Croatia provided both celebrations of national heroes as Domagoj Duvnjak, Igor Karacic and Ivan Pesic and a striking performance that distanced the home team from Czechia. Marin Sipic and Filip Glavas was cheered by the roaring Zagreb crowd after quality goals and Croatia passed the threshold to qualify for the next European Championship.
The same ticket was granted Slovenia who took matters into their own hands with 38 goals versus North Macedonia. Aleks Vlah steered the offensive ambitions with nine goals and Uros Zorman’s team became the third side with maximum points after four rounds.
Benjamin Helander sprinted for Finland, scoring nine goals was just about enough to gain two vital points in the quest for a first major tournament, 26–25 away versus Slovakia. Italy had repeated wins against Latvia to keep the hope alive and Faroe Islands leads the tight group 6 after dethroning Netherlands in Almere. Elias Ellefsen á Skipagötu and Oli Mittun had determination and skills when needed and there were plenty of other colours to mix up the expected orange domination in the stands.
All in all the group winners, all second-placed teams plus the four best third-placed teams reach the final tournament. The qualification phase will conclude with two games in May.
