Hungary remained resilient, using a strong defense and powerful pivot play to stay in the match. Sweden capitalized on fast-break opportunities, and Claar continued to stand out with individual brilliance.

The drama continued until the final minutes. Hampus Wanne gave Sweden a two-goal lead, but a Swedish suspension allowed Hungary to regain the advantage at 31–30.

In the following attack, it was Swedens turn to play with a player advantage. Daniel Pettersson converted from the right wing to level the score. Hungary responded quickly, taking the lead again with only a minute remaining.

Sweden called a timeout, emphasizing the need for a victory. Lagergren quickly scored to equalize, and in the final seconds, Wanne drew an offensive foul, giving Palicka the chance for an open goal. But the shot just missed, and the match ended 32–32.
