Germany top the group after comeback win against Norway

Germany move up to a perfect six points and continue to top main round group 1. Norway were defeated 30–28 after a strong German comeback in the second half.

Norway came into the match knowing they needed two points to keep their semifinal hopes alive. They showed that from the start, using aggressive defense and clinical attacking play to take a 7–3 lead.

Germany, however, gradually worked their way into the game. With Golla effective on the line and Grgić stepping up offensively, they closed the gap. Early in the second half the score was level at 21–21 – and that’s when Germany made their decisive move.

Backed by Wolff in goal and a well-functioning offense, Germany scored five straight goals to take a 26–21 lead. That proved decisive, and although Norway fought bravely, they never managed to close the gap.

The victory lifts Germany to six points at the top of Group 1. Next up are France and Denmark, where Germany will need at least one upset result to secure a semifinal spot.
