The most notable aspect of the squad, aside from the absence of players such as Kolstad’s Sigvaldi Gudjonsson and Benfica’s Stiven Tobar Valencia, is just how strong it looks.
Iceland have also been drawn on the “easier” side of the bracket, giving them a considerably more open path to the semifinals than teams on the opposite side.
