List: The best right wings at the 2024 European Championship

The European Championship 2024 is getting closer and in a series of articles Ola Selby, reporter at GoHandball, picks his 5 best players at each position. Next up: The right wings.

Here are the players:

Sigvaldi Gudjonsson, Iceland

Is currently sitting at the number 8 position among the best goal scorers in the Champions League this season with his 65 goals for Kolstad. And just like Bjarki Mar Elisson on the other Icelandic wing, Gudjonsson is a reliable player for Iceland during championships.

Aleix Gomez, Spain

The best player on this list and presumably the player that most head coaches would choose for their team if given the opportunity. Gomez has no real weaknesses in his game and will, even though the season in Barca hasn’t been perfect so far, be amazing during the Euros.

Yanis Lenne, France

Recently came back from a bad injury and has immediately shown just how great he is. During his absence, Sebastian Karlsson performed well in his place but ever since Lenne came back it’s like he was never away.

Hans Lindberg, Denmark

The by far the oldest player on the list. Johan Hansen will probably start for Denmark and maybe Niclas Kirkeløkke will get more chances than Lindberg on the right wing. But my opinion is that Lindberg is the best right wing Denmark has. This man can score in his sleep.

Mario Sostaric, Croatia

Still, a quite anonymous player who has played at a high level for years and is now 31 years old. This season in Pick Szeged has been one of his best ones ever: 57 goals in 10 games in the Champions League says it all. Sostaric has represented Slovenia earlier in his career but now makes his championship debut for Hrvatska.
