The pressure cooker between Füchse Berlin and Paris Saint-Germain produced 78 goals and a narrow win for the French guest. Kolstad bounced back to join the teams on playoff spot while Barca’s triumph over SC Magdeburg led to a continuous four point gap in the top of group B.
Mathias Gidsel was back in business for Berlin and the creative input from the danish star stood behind ten goals. Though PSG´s attacks also had superb efficiency and the high-paced efforts from Elohim Prandi and Yahia Omar with variations in pivot actions from Kamil Syprzak overcame the home team in the end.
Double hits from Syprzak meant Berlin had to enter chase mode for the final five minutes and no equalizing chance was given as PSG moved swiftly to the 40 goal mark.
Veszprem thwarted RK Pelister and resumed command in group A. With Barca being the only team to win all their games so far the top spot in group B is a closed discussion at the moment.
SC Magdeburg has yet to find the level who took the German team to Final four on two occasions and Aleix Gomez (eight goals) made sure to find the net enough times to distance the opponent.
Kolstad´s first away win brought more credibility to the Champions League debutant. Torbjørn Bergerud was a key factor against Pick Szeged with 39 percent saves.
Kolstad had to play without Sander Sagosen but the guests found ways to counteract all Szeged attempts to pull away in the first half. Simon Jeppsson had some golden minutes when Kolstad produced a three-goal-lead of their own after the break and Adrian Aalberg´s rushes on the left wing kept the Norwegian champion ahead.
