Isak Persson signs two-year deal with GOG: “The right place to be”

Isak Persson is set to continue his career abroad next season. As reported by Handbollskanalen, the Swedish right winger has signed a two-year contract with Danish powerhouse GOG.

– For me, this is the right place to be in order to take the next step in my development, says Isak Persson to the club’s official website.

Persson made his first major move abroad in 2022, when he transferred from Lugi HF to Bergischer HC in Germany. The summer of 2024 brought new challenges; after Bergischer’s relegation from the Bundesliga, Persson began searching for a new opportunity. SC Magdeburg offered an unexpected opening – one that led all the way to the Champions League final and a title.

The 25-year-old is currently sharpening his game with HK Malmö during the 2024/25 season, but will join GOG next year.

– It’s going to be really fun to be part of a team that plays very attractive and fast handball, and I believe it will suit me well.
