Ihor Turchenko future newcomer in Nantes

HBC Nantes continues to plan for the future. Ihor Turchenko is the second newcomer for 2026/27, the Ukrainian back court player is set to stay for three seasons after his arrival next summer.

Christoffer Bonde was recently presented and Nantes push on with actions on the player market. Turchenko is already familiar with French handball, with his current club Limoges HB he also stood out in European League with 89 international goals last season.

– I am very happy to have signed for HBC Nantes, a top club with experienced players who play for victory and with great enthusiasm in every match. It’s a new challenge for me, especially playing in the Champions League, a competition that motivates me enormously, he says to the club webpage.

Nantes president Gael Pelletier regards the left back as a potential success story.

– A player as talented as he is promising, he has quickly adapted to the French Championship, where he has already demonstrated his physical and technical qualities. We are convinced that he still has plenty of room for improvement, that he will take the next step in our colors and continue his progression to the highest level, he says to the club website.
