Skjern HB´s Christoffer Bonde has Champions League action in sight for 2026. After an early reveal by TV2, HBC Nantes has confirmed the significant transfer.
Skjern has Bonde on contract until 2027. No matter what, Nantes has now taken over the 26-year-olds capacity for three years, 2026-29.
– I am very happy to sign for HBC Nantes, a very big club that is now one of the biggest in Europe, with whom I am eager to get started and take the next step in my career. This will be my first experience abroad, but I feel it’s the right time for me to leave Denmark. It’s an exciting challenge, he says to the HBC webpage.
Last season, Bonde performed brilliantly between the posts, the statistics show him saving more shots than any other goalkeeper in the Danish league.
Nantes was also successful in 2024/25, finishing second behind Paris Saint-Germain in Starligue and winning bronze in Champions League.
– After successfully establishing himself at the highest Danish level with Skjern Handbold, notably in the EHF European League and the championship, Christoffer will bring a different culture to the position and an ability to respond in key moments of matches. His physique, maturity, and remarkable consistency make him an ideal recruit to strengthen the position, says Nantes president Gael Pelletier to the club webpage.
