Paris Saint-Germain picks up an Egyptian back court player. Abdelrahman Abdou enters the Champions League and Starligue scene with a contract for the next season, the club confirms.
PSG´s new head coach, Stefan Madsen is already on the way from Al-Ahly to the French capital. Abdou moves in exactly the same direction to a new handball level.
– I am very happy to be joining Paris Saint-Germain Handball. It’s an honor to be able to play for such a high-level club, and I’m particularly excited to be reunited with my coach, with whom I previously worked at Al-Ahly. I look forward to this new adventure and contributing to PSG’s success, he says to the club webpage.
Abdou has 45 caps on his cv and played for Egypt in the last World Cup as well as the Paris Olympic Games.
— We were looking for a player capable of contributing both offensively and defensively. This arrival is facilitated by the relationship already established with his future coach, Stefan Madsen, which will allow for a quick and seamless integration into our team, says PSG´s general manager Thierry Omeyer to the club website.
