Egypt once again on the top in Junior Championship

Egypt won the title for the 14th time. Tunisia, the nation with the most silver medals secured second place and bronze for Algeria worked out in a similar fashion.

The African Men’s Junior Championship reached its peak when the medals were awarded in Mahdia, Tunisia.

As the only undefeated nation Egypt passed through the play-offs with decreasing margins – plus 24 versus Libya in the quarterfinals and 38–32 over Algeria in the semifinals. Tunisia had blast against Mali but Morocco proved a tougher opponent, with the host nation advancing by one goal only (22–21.

Egypt took the lead in the final and never looked back. Tunisia could creep a bit closer towards the end but there was no room for discussion in the gold race.

Besides the podium teams Morocco, Guinea and Rwanda made use of their top six spots to qualify for the U21 World Championship coming up in 2025.
