Aalborg Håndbold’s Norwegian right back Patrick Helland Anderson is reportedly set to join THW Kiel, where he could reunite with coach Børge Lund and team up with Emil Madsen.
Patrick Helland Anderson could be heading to the Bundesliga. According to Danish outlet RYGTEBØRS, the 21-year-old Norwegian right back is expected to continue his career at German powerhouse THW Kiel, despite having a contract with Aalborg Håndbold until the summer of 2028.
A move would see Anderson reunite with Børge Lund, who coached him at Norwegian club Elverum. The pair won the Norwegian league title together in 2025 before Anderson moved to Aalborg.
At Kiel, Anderson would also join forces with Danish right back Emil Madsen, whose contract runs until 2028. The potential pairing would give the German side two exciting options in the same position.
The reported move also raises questions about Harald Reinkind’s future. The Norwegian international’s current contract with Kiel expires in the summer of 2027, making Anderson a potential successor. However, RYGTEBØRS has no information regarding Reinkind’s future.
Anderson’s rise has been impressive. He was named the best right back at the 2024 Men’s 20 EHF EURO and has since earned his place in Norway’s senior national team.
