Oscar Bergendahl stays with SC Magdeburg: “Proud”

Consistency on the line: SC Magdeburg and Oscar Bergendahl are continuing their partnership. The 31-year-old line player has signed a new contract and will remain with the club at least until 30 June 2028.

The Swedish international joined the club in February 2023, when he was signed as a replacement for the currently injured Magnus Saugstrup. Since then, Bergendahl has developed into a key member of the Magdeburg squad, winning the EHF Champions League twice with the club, as well as the IHF Super Globe, the DHB-Pokal and the German Championship.

Bennet Wiegert, head coach, had this to say in a press release:

“Oscar is an important part of our team. On the court he is always present and is one of the quiet leaders in the squad. As a person, he speaks for himself, with his commitment and mentality he embodies exactly what SC Magdeburg stands for. I’m pleased that he will continue to wear our club’s colours beyond this season.”

Oscar Bergendahl himself:

“I’m proud to remain part of SC Magdeburg. The fans in particular make me feel very comfortable here. We have a great team and I’m looking forward to playing for the club in the coming years and competing for more titles.”
