Omar Ingi Magnusson and SC Magdeburg enjoys two further seasons together. Added to the already existing agreement, the Icelandic national player will stay in the top German side until 2028.
Magnusson has been a force to be reckoned with for many years in Magdeburg. After arriving in 2020 the beginning was affected by the ongoing pandemic but the 28-year-old soon got to experience some boost from the audience, while scoring 273 times in Bundesliga.
– My family and I feel very much at home in Magdeburg. I play for a fantastic club with incredible fans. In terms of sport, I want to help SCM win more titles in the coming years, he said to the club webpage.
As a steady star from the right back position, Magnusson helped Magdeburg to national success and titles in Champions League and Super Globe.
– We are very pleased that we have succeeded in securing Omar’s future with SC Magdeburg. With his outstanding qualities, he fits perfectly into our system; together with Albin Lagergren, we feel very well positioned at right back in the coming seasons, the head coach Bennet Wiegert said to the club website.
