Official: Théo Monar to join Füchse Berlin in 2027

Füchse Berlin have secured another major signing for the 2027/28 season. French international line player Théo Monar will join the German club from Polish champions Industria Kielce on a contract running until 2030.

The 25-year-old will become the latest addition to a Füchse squad that is already taking shape for the 2027/28 campaign. Monar, who stands at 1.98 metres, has spent the past two seasons at Kielce after developing into one of the more highly regarded line players in France.

Monar has been part of the French national team since 2021 and will now join fellow French international Dika Mem in Berlin.

“He was the absolute desired player of our coach,” Füchse managing director Bob Hanning said in a press release.

Head coach and sporting director Nicolej Krickau also highlighted Monar’s physical qualities and believes the move can represent the next step in his development.

For Monar, the Bundesliga itself was a major part of the attraction.

“The Bundesliga is one of the best, if not the best league in the world,” Monar said. “When the opportunity arose, I had to take it.”

He added that playing in the Max-Schmeling-Halle as an opponent had already given him a taste of what to expect in Berlin.

“I have already started learning German and will follow Berlin’s games,” Monar said.

The move will also coincide with a changing of the guard on Füchse’s line. Veteran Mijajlo Marsenić is entering his final season with the club, meaning Monar is set to arrive as part of the long-term solution at the position.
