List: Here are 10 of the best new signings in the Bundesliga

The 2024-25 season of the Bundesliga is just around the corner. Here we list 10 of the best new signings ahead of this season.

Here are the signings:

Andreas Wolff, to THW Kiel from Vive Kielce

The Big Bad Wolff can not be left out of a list like this. Kiel needed an upgrade on the position and got just that in Wolff. Everyone knows just how great he is when he is at his best and if he can perform at that level this season Kiel will once again be a team to look out for.

Manuel Zehnder, to SC Magdeburg from HC Erlangen

The Swiss phenom won the top goalscorer title in the Bundesliga last season. This year, with the heel injury that will keep Felix Claar out for a while, Magdeburg went out and bought Zehnder from HC Erlangen – a great player, and also the type of player that fits Magdeburg’s style of play perfectly.

Niclas Kirkelökke, to Flensburg from Rhein-Neckar Löwen

Let’s be honest: Teitur Einarsson is an interesting player with a great left arm, but if you want to compete for the league title your second option at right back probably needs a bit more quality overall. And that is what Flensburg-Handewitt got this year in Niclas Kirkelökke. The Danish international will be a great backup to Kay Smits and a great defense option.

Ludvig Hallbäck, to Göppingen from Bjerringbro-Silkeborg

One of the lesser-known players on this list but an interesting player who has dominated for Sweden’s youth national teams in several championships and also in the domestic league. A fast and tricky playmaker with an underestimated shot ability who had a great season for Bjerringbro-Silkeborg in Denmark last year. If Hallbäck can adapt to the Bundesliga he could very well be the catch of the season.

Dominik Kuzmanovic, to Gummersbach from Nexe

Croatia had to wait a few years to find their next top goalkeeper. They have their man in Dominik Kuzmanovic. He is not one of the best goalkeepers in the world, at least not yet, but already a match-winning type. Gummersbach continues to act smart when building a top team.

Kentin Mahé, to Gummersbach from Veszprem

Mahé is not what he was 5 years ago, but he is still a great player. And a player who will help Gummersbach a lot with all of his experience. He can still perform at the highest level and now gets his jubilant return to Gummersbach, where he played from 2011 until 2013 before his career took off.

Ivan Martinovic, to Rhein-Neckar Löwen from Melsungen

A bit surprising that the Croatian right back is leaving Melsungen for Rhein-Neckar Löwen considering that Melsungen is better than Löwen right now and that Martinovic was one of their best players last season. A great signing for Löwen considering they were in desperate need of helping Juri Knorr out in the backcourt.

Emil Madsen, to THW Kiel from GOG

Kiel’s second great signing this summer is a Danish right back who can score at will, a quality that he has shown the past few seasons with GOG in Denmark. Not the biggest player but always a threat from the right back position, and a player that will serve as a great complement to Harald Reinkind.

Alexandre Cavalcanti, to Melsungen from Nantes

An underestimated player that can do it all. A big guy that is great at using his big body, almost bullying defenders on his best days. The Portuguese left back can shoot, and pass, and is also a very competent defender. A player who will help Melsungen take the next step. A very smart signing.

Sebastian Heymann, to Rhein-Neckar Löwen from Göppingen

Speaking of helping Knorr in the backcourt – Sebastian Heymann did just that during the 2024 Olympics in Paris. The left back played better than Knorr, and it’s fair to say that the big guy is better now than he has ever been.
