SC Leipzig gained the first point of the season after a tight affair against Frisch Auf Göppingen. Still, the guests looked to be heading towards even better, but a five goal lead was lost due to Göppingen´s magnificent finish, 24–24.
Fynn Hofele tied the game with five seconds remaning with one of the few shots that passed Domenico Ebner.
Leipzig´s keeper set the scene with 15 competent saves but the field players unfortunately could live up to the standard.
Instead Erik Persson and Rutger ten Velde starting reducing the gap, Leipzig lost the plot with technical errors allowing for Göppingen to bounce back. Even the last minute failed to save the away team, Göppingen blocked the first game winning attempt and won the ball soon after which allowed the late comeback.
