Johannes Golla in significant transfer – five year comeback in Melsungen

MT Melsungen´s leading position opens up for major moves. Johannes Golla´s background in the Bundesliga club also plays a part in the return of the pivot from 2026/27.

Melsungen acted anticipative and signs the 28-year-old with one and half year remaning on his current contract in SG Flensburg-Handewitt.

– We had the chance to sign Johannes and we took it, says the sports director Michael Allendorf in Melsungen´s communication.

– The opportunity to land a player of this caliber is not something you get every day, Allendorf continues.

Golla has only known two professional clubs in his line player career, Melsungen from 2015 to 2018 and Flensburg for the last six seasons and running.

He moves back and the obvious centerpiece when Melsungen look forward, the five-year-deal announced by the aspiring top club underlines his importance.

– It already feels like I’m coming home, says Golla who has followed Melsungen´s campaign from a distance.

– You can see that a lot has developed positively both on the field and in the club’s environment.

– I have big plans for the MT, Golla adds to Melsungen´s webpage.
