The Danish goal machine and Bundesliga record holder Hans Lindberg reached and jumped a new limit.
3001 goals. That’s the current Bundesliga goal scoring record, still pushed by majestic Hans Lindberg. The Füchse Berlin player had scored 2998 goals before this weekends game against FRISCH AUF! Göppingen. He added 3 more to his total score smashing the 3000 limit.
The 42 year old Dane still has a potential 19 games left in the Bundesliga this season to reach even further (and perhaps become unreachable forever?). Next summer he is moving back to Denmark to play for his childhood club HØJ Elite.
Lindberg’s total scoring record is perhaps even more amazing. According to Fabian Koch on X this is his statistics:
Bundesliga (Germany): 3001
Håndboldligaen (Denmark): 1074
EHF club competitions: 980
Danish national team: 784
And according to the Danish Handball Federation:
Danish junior and youth national teams: 154
Beach: 547
What is also incredible and worth a thought is that Hans Lindberg started playing handball as a 14 year old.
